Artist Statement for Artist Menu In the piece above, I painted a part of a picture that I had taken the previous summer in North Carolina of a lighthouse. As I zoomed in the picture, I stopped at a place where Mr. Gaudreau thought best and, as time passed, I was happy he thought so. In the beginning, I was thinking I should use watercolor; try something new. But, that was a mistake. After that, I covered most of the artwork with acrylic paint. And, now that I think about it, I should have painted over the whole piece of paper. If I become famous, and people buy my paintings for centuries, they will diminish before they reach all the buyers they were supposed to.
