    Very cool. it looks like you went on some interesting walks. Do you see how light , or the lack of it, can totally transform a subject?

1.        When examining other people's art, one can pick what to blend in with one's way of art, to modify it into something more desirable for the artist him/herself What did I learn from Kroll's work? Don't focus on the details. Try to work fast so that you won't focus on details and end up repainting--wasting paint and time--and loosing previous flow. When following the steps, one can achieve the alla prima look.  (Not really in Peggi Kroll's work, but as we go further into studio 2, it will help) After one gets to the point where his/her painting looks like a Peggi Kroll painting, one can go back to add as much or as little detail as one wants. Artist Menu Artist Statement

Artist Statement for Artist Menu In the piece above, I painted a part of a picture that I had taken the previous summer in North Carolina of a lighthouse. As I zoomed in the picture, I stopped at a place where Mr. Gaudreau thought best and, as time passed, I was happy he thought so. In the beginning, I was thinking I should use watercolor; try something new. But, that was a mistake. After that, I covered most of the artwork with acrylic paint. And, now that I think about it, I should have painted over the whole piece of paper. If I become famous, and people buy my paintings for centuries, they will diminish before they reach all the buyers they were supposed to. Maybe painting the back with acrylic paint will make it able for me to preserve it. Overall, I think I did a nice job. I am happy with the work I did and think it works best at the window, thing that I also struggled with at the beginning.
